You can purchase a birth, death or marriage/civil partnership using the Stirling Council service.
Purchasing a Certificate
You can apply for copy certificates of any birth, death or marriage registered in Scotland from 1855 to the present date and civil partnership registered in Scotland from 2004 to present date.
Certificates will not be available if the event was registered out with Stirling within the current year.
If the event took place in the current year, we can only provide certificates for events registered at any of the Stirling Council offices.
Certificates are dispatched within 10 working days, where details supplied are correct.
If you were adopted in Scotland, the event will be registered in the Adopted Childrens Register. If this is the case, contact National Records of Scotland on 0131 314 4411.
Costs of Certificates
The statutory cost per copy certificate is £15.
Additional copies of the same certificate are £10 each.
If you request a copy of a certificate within one month of the event being registered, the cost per certificate is £10.
Fast track requests
The cost of fast track is £5 per a search.
Certificates will be posted via Royal Mail within 3 working days.
If you require the certificate sooner you can collect the same day at the main Registration Office (OVF) between 3pm and 4:30pm, if the request was made prior to 12pm.
If the request is made after 12pm, certificates can be collected from 9am the following day.
