Councillors Report |
Council Budget takes place on Thursday 3 May – likely to be a 3% council tax increase. Confirmed there has not been any savings following the changes to the waste collection. Also at the meeting anti-social plans will be included in council policy – e.g. victims to be allocated more housing points – perpetrators will have an increased housing wait list along with evictions for those engaged in anti-social plans.
Be aware a recent burglary took place in Wallace Park during daylight hours. Increase in anti-social behaviour will write to Chief Constable on situation regarding community policing across the board. Resident raised the issue of non-MOT cars in Colquhoun Street along with cars parked on pavement – these are both police matter and can be reported directly to them.
Any issues please email Councillor Flannagan.
Planning Report
Nothing to report.
Police Report
Crime Report for Braehead and Broomridge between 29 January 2002 and 28 February 2022: 12 detected cases and 14 undetected. (Detected cases include assault, breach of the peace, road traffic offences, vandalism).
6. General Business
Superglass
Superglass representative: Andrew Nelson, confirmed receipt of two noise complaints – response has been issued. There is an ongoing noise complaint and a recent complain regarding emissions from the stacks. This has been discussed with resident along with it being raised with Sepa – confirmed that it was a lighting effect. One of the noise complaints has been resolved – found to be an issue with an electric motor. New motor fitted at the end of January. Sepa has been in touch with residents who reported noise complaints – the initial noise issue has been resolved however there seems to be a continuous noise source. Liaising with contractor on this and it looks to have been identified, confident that this will be resolved soon. Any complaint received regarding Superglass is investigated no matter if it is one or a dozen.
Looking to commence site visits soon.
Grit Bins/20MPH
No feedback received from the council either matter at present, complaint issued on lack of communication.
Dog Walkers
Wendy is meeting Land Services regarding the location of the bench.
Colquhoun Street
20MPH – Aileen raised the issue regarding the 20MPH in the Stirling area. Our Community Council was the only one that actively canvassed for it and the only one that it has not been actioned on it. Being ignored by Stirling Council, completed survey, gave analysis and feedback however no response yet from the council. Gary will raise this again with Councillor Flannagan. Will look at communicating to the residents via Facebook.
Muirend Road – containers currently on land due to upgrades to roof panels and windows.
AOCB
Wendy has received a request from resident at Shirras Brae regarding a community litter pick. Wendy will ask land services if we can get equipment from them for the event. Consider putting a Facebook request out to residents. Community Council keen to help and will try and attend. Wendy to reply to resident on this.
Meeting closed at 20:15hrs
Next Meeting to be held on Monday 28 March 2022 @ Crawford Hall.
