Before you begin

We'll ask:

  • for your name and date of birth
  • for your address details, including your email address
  • about the type of personal data you want — for example, whether you want information relating to social work, Council Tax or a different service

You’ll also need to upload some ID. This can be scans or photos of either:

  • a passport, driving licence or birth certificate
  • 2 official letters from within the last 6 months

What happens after your submit a request

When we receive your completed form, our Records and Information Governance team will be in touch to advise you of the next steps. We normally respond to requests within 1 month, but complex requests can take up to 3 months. If we need more information before we can process your request, we’ll let you know.

If we cannot provide personal data

In most cases, individuals will be entitled to access their personal data. However, in some situations, the law will prevent us from giving out certain information. If we cannot give out all of the information you've requested, we'll contact you and explain why this is the case.

If you want to contact us by email

If you would prefer to email us about accessing your personal data, you can send a message to dprequests@stirling.gov.uk.
