Concept

This concept became the basic principle of “Our Code”.

A sub group took away the material gathered and began to flesh out a set of Rights and Responsibilities. Draft text went backwards and forwards among the working group members until it was in its final shape. This didn't take too long. The hard work had been done at the original workshop and there was a complete consensus on the outcome.

  • The sub group further consulted on the text with a range of interested groups:
  • The original working group of 26.
  • Councillors from the Administration.
  • Full management team (Chief Executive and Directors).
  • All Heads of Service.
  • Full Council.
  • Joint Negotiating Committee of Trade Unions.
  • All political parties.

“Our Code” was adopted at a Council meeting when employees presented their proposal, which was agreed, by the Council, Management Team and the Trade Unions.
