Sport and Leisure services have changed.

Active Stirling was set up at the end of March 2006 to provide sport and physical activity services to the Stirling Council area.  224 staff were transferred from Stirling Council Sport & Leisure services and the company is managed by a Board of Directors. The company covers 3 broad areas:

  • Sports Development - creating links between pre-schools, schools, clubs and performance structures
  • Active Communities - encouraging local communities to engage in more active lifestyles
  • Facilities - ensuring the appropriate facilities and support structures exist locally

Active Stirling also works closely with volunteer groups and currently has over 100 active volunteers registered across schools, clubs and community programmes.

Places
Active Stirling manages Rainbow Slides Leisure Centre and Forthbank Stadium as well as a number of parks and open spaces, pitches and pavilions in the Stirling Council area. Programmes take place in a wide variety of community based locations including schools and church halls. Our outdoor activity and adventure team make use of the natural resources in and around Stirling.
