Tourism Grants for Innovative Projects
Stirling Council’s Tourism & Rural Development Team is inviting local businesses to apply for a grant from the Tourism Small Grant Scheme to support their tourism activities. Stirling Council’s Executive Member with responsibility for Economy Councillor Scott Farmer said: “Tourism is vitally important to the Stirling area. The industry employs approximately 10,000 people and brings in over £280 million to the local economy each year.”
The Tourism Small Grant Scheme for 2008-09 supports innovative tourism activities to encourage people to work together to increase visitor numbers and tourism revenue in the Stirling area.
Councillor Farmer added: “The Council is committed to supporting the tourism industry to deliver sustainable tourism-related schemes and as a destination we have so much to offer visitors. From outstanding countryside, historic sites, great shopping and a vibrant city Stirling really is at the heart of Scottish tourism.”
There is no deadline for applications but the £8000 fund must be allocated to projects prior to the end of the financial year (March 31, 2009).
