Vehicle Specification
All of Stirling Council's Taxi and Private Hire Vehicles must comply with the following:
Vehicle Inspection
1. The holder of the licence is required to present the vehicle toFleet Services, Building 103, ABRO, Forthside, Meadowforth Road, Stirling to undergo and pass an annual inspection.
An authorised licence application form must be obtained from the Licensing Section at Muncicipal Buildings, Corn Exchange Road, Stirling before any vehicle is presented to Fleet Services for testing.
2. Vehicles over three years old will be subject to six monthly inspections.
3. At the time of application and test the Registration Document, valid Certificate of Insurance and current MOT Certificate (for vehicles over 1 year old) must be presented along with the appropriate fee for the test and plates.
Condition of Vehicles
The holder of the licence shall ensure that the vehicle, including all bodywork, upholstery and fittings, is maintained in a safe and serviceable condition, and subject to prevailing road conditions, is kept clean and tidy both internally and externally.
Display of Plates and Signs
The holder of the licence shall ensure that while the vehicle is in use as a taxi or private hire, any licence and fare plates issued by the Council are displayed.
Vehicle Test Certificate
Once the vehicle has passed on all points, the inspector at ABRO will send a completed Test Certificate to the Licensing Section and the taxi/private hire vehicle licence will be issued thereafter.
