Farmers markets allow farmers, growers and producers from throughout Scotland to sell their produce direct to the public. The emphasis is on freshness, quality and value for money.
Why buy locally?
- It puts money back into the local rural economy
- Sustains and creates local jobs
- Reduces food miles
- Reduces the stages in the food chain from fork to plate
- You can ask how the food is produced and grown
- Provide customer feedback directly to the producer.
All Farmers' Markets and individual stall-holders are expected to meet the same standards of health, safety and labelling as any other retail outlet.
Stirling Farmers Market is a very busy and well organised market, with a superb cross section of producers from all over central Scotland.
There is always a splendid family atmosphere and is well supported by the locals, so why not come along and try it for yourself?
