Our first ever Procurement Strategy was approved at the Council meeting on 22 June 2006 and implementation of the strategy has already started.
The Strategy further develops the significant procurement development work already undertaken by the Council and provides the basis for a very real improvement in the way in which procurement is carried out across the Council.
The strategy is also the Council's response to the Review of Public Sector Procurement in Scotland and McClelland's subsequent Report and Recommendations.
The Main elements of the strategy are improving: across the Council, with a major emphasis on training for all staff with a procurement responsibility.
