Following on from the Boundary Commission's review of electoral wards for the Stirling Constituency prior to Local Government Elections in May 2007, 7 new Multi-member Wards were approved with effect from 14 July 2006.
Several existing Community Council boundaries differed greatly from these new Multi-member wards. Views expressed by Community Councillors over the last two years indicated a need for Stirling Council to review current Community Council boundaries to make them fit within the respect Multi-members wards.
Alteration to Community Council boundaries meant that the Scheme for Establishment of Community Councils needed to be amended. This required an 8 week period of Consultation with Community Councils, Community and Voluntary Organisations and the general public. Your views were sought on these boundary changes as well as your comments on Corporate Body Status for Community Councils, a Code of Conduct and whether the current Area Community Planning Forum boundaries should be altered to take account of Community Council boundary changes. The full Consultation document is available here for your information.
