Stirling Council Disability Equality Scheme

Stirling Council has prepared a Disability Equality Scheme confirming the actions it will take to eliminate discrimination and promote equality of opportunity for people with a disability in the Stirling Council area. The scheme which was approved on 21 November 2006, considers the Council's responsibilities for delivering services and as an employer or prospective employer.

Disability Equality Scheme-2007-2009

This identifies what we will do to promote disability equality and challenge discrimination when recruiting and employing people and delivering services directly to our customers or when working with contractors and partner organisations to do this.

Disability Equality Scheme-Appendix A1 Action Plan

This identifies improvement actions the Council will take in its Disability Equality Scheme for 2007-09. The Action Plan lists priority themes for promoting disability equality and tackling discrimination wherever it may arise. Each theme details the associated aims, key outcomes and actions to be delivered over the lifetime of the Scheme.

Disability Equality Scheme- Appendix A2: Education - Action Plan

Stirling Council Children’s Services, as the education authority, have developed a disability equality scheme which sits within the overarching Stirling Council Disability Equality Scheme. This goes beyond Children’s Services’ education functions and addresses disability equality in all services for children and young people.

Disability Equality Scheme Action Plan - 1st Annual Review

This identifies the progress achieved in delivering the Action Plan from January – December 07, together with areas where further action is required. This is contained in a report which also confirms progress in delivery of the first year of the Council’s Education Disability Equality Scheme. Progress in delivering both schemes is detailed in Appendices to the report.
