Sounding Board

Stirling Council's citizens’ panel, the Stirling Sounding Board, was established in 2000. It is one of the main ways that the Council gets views of residents on a wide range of topics. The panel is made up of 1300 adult residents and is representative of the community as whole by such factors as age, gender, working status, type of housing, urban/rural residence. The panel is refreshed occasionally to ensure that its views reflect those of all citizens.

Stirling Sounding Board

The Council conducts a number of surveys with the Sounding Board, including the Residents Survey every two to three years.  Members may also be asked to help with interviews, focus groups, website testing or other activities, but there is no compulsion to take part. Increasingly, many of our surveys are now done online.  We aim to make participation as interesting and engaging as possible. We report back on what panellists have said through regular newsletters.

Get Involved!

If you are interested in joining the Sounding Board, please use our application form.  Everyone over 16 is welcome but we are particularly interested in younger people (16-24) and those from ethnic minorities, to increase their representation on the Sounding Board. You may not be added immediately to the panel, but if not, you will be added to the reserve list.
