How do I start using feeds?

Perhaps the easiest was to view a feed is by using clicking on the icon in or near the address bar in your browser. For Firefox and Internet Explorer 7 users this is an orange icon, for Safari users it is a blue RSS icon.

To subscribe to multiple feeds and view them from a single place, the first thing you need is something called a news reader. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser (e.g Google Reader), and some of which are downloadable applications. All allow you to display and subscribe to the feeds you want.

Once you have chosen a news reader, all you have to do is to decide what content you want. For example, if you would like the latest Stirling Council News stories, simply visit the site's homepage and you will notice the icon.

If you click on the icon (or choose the down arrow if more than one feed is displayed on the page) you will be able to subscribe to the feed in various ways, including by dragging the URL of the feed into your news reader or by cutting and pasting the same URL into a new feed in your news reader.
