The Changing Room presented an exhibition of new work by Stirling-based illustrator and designer David Galletly.

David Galletly used the window space of the gallery to construct a set drawings and paintings. His work often focuses on awkwardness, trivial social situations, the mundane and slang. This is mixed with whimsical, surreal flights of imagination and humour. Unusual characters, animals, masks, hands and feet reappear throughout, as does a focus upon pattern and line. Galletly’s work is largely influenced by street art and outsider art, illustration and comics as well as skate culture.

Galletly currently lives and works as a graphic designer and illustrator in Stirling. Recent exhibitions include Wanderlust, Sub Octo Gallery, Philadelphia, February 2007, Complete Control and Rouge for Flesh Design, Edinburgh, 2006, andThe Telltale Collaborative, Patriothall Gallery, Edinburgh, 2006. He is currently working on a new issue of Running Amok a publication series by Analogue Books, Edinburgh and In The Woods & At The Sea, a book of poems for Stuart Crutchfield.
