I Jump On The Line
Jenny Brownrigg, Blair Cunningham, Christine Jones, Scott Sherry, Rowan Walker
21 March - 2 May 1998

An exhibition showcasing works by five young contemporary artists from the Stirling area.

Jenny Brownrigg's work employed photography and text to document one group of people in search of another.

Blair Cunninghamexplores his dyslexia through photography: Every day without thinking we construct coherent sentences…yet for someone like me it can be a frustrating and exhausting experience… this work will illustrate my disjointed view of the written world and my relationship with words as image”.

Christine Jonesproduced a large scale drawing on the gallery wall accompanied by a series of smaller drawings, all of which are based on one crowd scene evoking a sense of loss and melancholy.

Referencing the obituaries section in The Guardian, Scott Sherry, made work in the gallery each Friday. Producing portraits with a lo-tech approach to printmaking, the work built up gradually throughout the exhibition in a sensitive and considered way.

Rowan Walkerpresented an atmospheric series of photographs which have no definite focus or location, relating to fragmented glimpses of land.
