Robert Orchardson

Robert Orchardson’s first solo exhibition, for which he developed an ambitious body of new work, some of which worked directly with the architecture of the space.

Orchardson juxtaposes two elements in his work: sculptural forms that echo the streamlined aesthetic of design and architecture in the 1960's/1970's; and meticulously painted stills from classic science fiction films such as Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey and George Lucas' THX1138. The exhibition looked at the way we envisage the future and respond to our changing relationships to technology, nature and faith.
