Biodiversity

Welcome to the Stirling Biodiversity Webpages

On these pages you will find information about what biodiversity is, why we should conserve it, why action is needed now, what action we plan to take and are taking.

At the moment we are concentrating on producing the various species and habitat action plans. These plans contain agreed actions from many organisations that the Stirling Biodiversity Steering Group feel will improve or consolidate the status of these habitats and species. To see the completed plans click on the Local Biodiversity Action Plan button.

The Stirling Biodiversity Steering Group is made up of Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), Stirling Council, The Forestry Commission, CARSE, The Royal Society for the Protection Of Birds (RSPB), The Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG) and Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA).
