29th November The final Core Paths Plan session for 2006 is due to take place in Kippen Recreation Club Reading Room today. Please come and see us from 2-5pm and 6-9pm.

24th August Dates for your diary - Cowie Core Paths Plan meeting - 8th and 9th September, Arnprior Core Paths Plan meeting - 16th and 20th September and Fallin Core Paths PLan meeting - 23rd and 25th September. Hope to see you there.
20th August Both Plean and Bridge of Allan have had their Core Paths Plan community meetings and around 50 people have come along to view the draft plan and chat to the team. A very successful start to the process.
12th/15th July NEWS FLASH - The first Stirling Council Core Paths Plan community meeting is being held at the Allan Centre Bridge of Allan - 12th - 7-9pm and 15th - 10-1pm. Come along and have your say on the Draft Core Paths Plan.
6th July Next Edition of Vit C is available to view.
25th June Pedal in the Park was staged in conjunction with Stirling Bike Club. Over 100 people turned out to participate in a range of biking activities in Plean Country Park
2nd June The first round of vegetation clearance has begun in earnest - so if you see the team out strimming paths go and say Hi to them!
23rd May New fingerposts have been appearing around Doune, Deanston, Cambusbarron, Bannockburn and Stirling to aid people using routes in these areas - this ties in with the launch of the two new leaflets
14th May A joint Stirling Council Countryside Service and British Horse Society Access Horse event was held on an estate in Dunblane. There was 27 participants who were all able to discuss the implications of the Land Reform Act on horse-riding whilst out on their horses or ponies - an excellent day.
11th May The Draft Stirling Council Core Paths Plan progress was taken to Stirling Council Environment Committee and received approval from Members.
26th April The first Stirling Area Local Access Forum meeting takes place tonight. The Chair and Vice-Chair will be nominated and the forum can start working on Access provision in Stirling.
15th April The Gowanhill Path near to Ballengeich Road is now open but there will be work ongoing by the Ballengeich Road for a while. If you are in the area please adhere to any safety notices that may be posted.
30th March The path on Gowanhill near to Ballengeich Road is closed due to a landslide making this area dangerous. Please keep out and adhere to the signs-map of area.
30th March Two new community path leaflets are available showing lovely routes in these two areas: - Doune and Deanston and Stirling, Bannockburn and Cambusbarron
27th March The Community Paths Project is finally complete with the last consultation taking place in Carron Valley today. Work on the Core Path Plan can now begin in earnest.

2nd March The next edition of Vit C - Volunteers in the Countryside newletter is published
1st March The Countryside Service begin piloting a Paths to Health, Walk the Walk workplace pedometer challenge. The team have been issued with pedometers and starting 6th March will be taking part in a workplace walking league - pitting members of Countryside against Corporate Services and others in a bid to get the highest number of steps possible during the working day.
Feb 2006 It's coming up to lambing time again and the team have produced some guidance for land managers and some signs for use.
23rd Feb Adopt a Path Evaluation Evening took place with 25 volunteer Path Inspectors and 7 members of staff discussing the use and effectiveness of the Adopt a Path, Path Inspector Scheme - the evening was lead by Alison Perry, Community Access Officer and was deemed a success, but there are a few changes that need to be made. Thank you to all those who attended.
16th Feb A training meeting/get-together of Stirling Area Local Access Forum members took place with presentations from Richard Barron Senior Access Officer, Penny Stoddard Access Officer and Alison Perry Community Access Officer. The first full meeting of the forum will take place on the 27th April 2006
20th Jan Official opening of the Wharry Burn Bridge
Jan 2006 The Stirling Area Local Access Forum will have its inaugural meeting in February. This will be a training session for members of the Access Forum and is therefore not open to the public.
