In 1999 The Stirling Council Environment Quality Committee adopted a Countryside Access and Recreation Strategy that sets out the policies that seek to guide the development, management and promotion of countryside access opportunities within the Stirling Council Area.

In 2003 this strategy was reviewed and progress highlighted in the Countryside Access and Recreation Strategy Review 1997-2003.

Before the Core Path Plan there was the Community Paths Project.  This report tells about the project whose results are being used as the basis for the Core Paths Plan: The Community Paths Project.

The need to manage and maintain paths was flagged up in the Countryside Access and Recreation Strategy.  This report tells you how we have approached path management and maintenance.

Stirling Council ran a Paths and Countryside Access Survey 2006/07between July 2006 and September 2007.  This report explains how the questionnaire was run and shows the results of the survey.
