Fallin-West
short: 2 miles - 1 hour, farm tracks/roads
This is a short circular walk on roads and farm tracks, with fine views of the surrounding hills. Start at the Hilton Terrace entrance to the Fallin/ Stirling cycleway, cross on to a farm track that takes you past South Cockspow Farm. After the track turns to the right, carry on towards Hartsmailing and follow the path past Hartmailing on your right and onto the track and turn left. After a short distance, turn right and continue ahead onto a tarmac road that re-crosses the cycleway to the A905. Cross the road following the signs to Lower Polmaise. Watch out for traffic.
At a sharp left-hand bend in the road, turn off onto a footpath on the right, this footpath leads back to Fallin. As you near Fallin, a left-hand fork takes you over Benny’s Bridge, a single arch stone bridge dated around 1760. A right hand fork takes you over another ancient bridge built around 1790, both crossing the Pow burn. The footpath takes you out onto Polmaise Road opposite Beda Place.
