1. Here We Stand
Artist: The Fratellis
Here We Stand continues pretty much where Costello Music left off. The clanging rock riffs of songs like "Shameless", "Mistress Mabel" and "Acid Jazz Singer" show the band in typically ribald form, while "Tell Me A Lie" and "A Heady Tale" attempt to revive the big-haired rocker spirit of 70s acts like Slade and Status Quo.

Mamma Mia's success on the stage and its wonderful translation to the big screen has given added impetus to the interest in the Swedish multi-million quartet. This collection highlights just how great they were and in the purely "Pop" oeuvre they have never been surpassed.
3 Home Before Dark
Artist: Neil Diamond
The man is a legend and has sold a phenomenal amount of records. You'd forgive him if this was a formulaic, staid old collection, but in fact it is one of his best albums in many a year. As those who saw him in Glasgow recently will testify, he still has it.

Artist: The Kooks
'Konk, the second album from indie pop starlets The Kooks, will appeal to those who enjoyed the catchier, hookier elements of their best-selling debut. The band are more "pop" than "indie" this time around, and Konk is an overt attempt at winning even more chart-topping kudos:but it's a good attempt at that
5 Rockferry
Artist: Duffy
An album of pure class with some fantastic 60's retro tunes that fit her voice so well. Stepping Stone is the stand out track among many that already mark this debut as a classic. Now how will she follow this classic?
6. Frank
Artist: Amy Winehouse
The debut album from North London singer/songwriter Amy Winehouse. Described as a cross between Erykah Badu and Nina Simone, the album is a mix of downbeat and uplifting jazz numbers featuring Winehouse's distinctive husky and soulful vocals.
The single 'Stronger Than Me' is also included. This has had a new lease of life since her more recent release and is proving very popular
7 Vampire Weekend
Vampire Weekend
After gaining exposure through word of mouth, internet blogs and US indie radio, New York based four piece Vampire Weekend release their self-titled debut for XL Records. Recorded at various locations including barns and friends apartments, the band describe their sound as "Upper West Side Soweto" playing a unique mix of Strokes style New York indie rock mixed with African rhythms. This could do more for African music than any album since Paul Simon's Graceland
8 All the Way - A Decade of Song
Artist: Celine Dion

Its hard to believe that the enviably talented Scots singer-songwriter is just a teenager.
