The latest books to make it to the big screen and this is great fun. A secret world of fantastic creatures hidden within the grounds of an old house spells trouble for the Grace children as they try to protect the secrets of an old book. Lots of action in what is pretty close to a perfect family film.

The one-man killing machine that is John Rambo is back. Sly Stallone looks remarkably good in this film where he leads a misfit regiment into war-torn Burma to rescue a group of missionaries. While not the greatest film ever, it makes for an entertaining evening's (bloody) viewing.

A young boy finds a mysterious egg at the side of a Scottish loch, which hatches into a mysterious and fabled creature. Nessie by any other name, this is a thoroughly enjoyable film that is well cast, beautifully acted and should do its bit for the image of Scotland
Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman star in this engaging film about a billionaire and humble mechanic who share a hospital room and find that they have a lot in common. They write a joint "bucket list" of things they want to do before they "kick the bucket". Very funny, with the twin leads giving their usual assured performances
A very exciting film based on a true story that has been billed "The British Ocean's Eleven". Jason Statham has done very well in action films and here shows he is a decent actor as the criminals pull off a haul even greater than the Great Train Robbery. A taut, rollercoaster film that will pass an evening very well.
This has proved very popular and we have had nothing but good feedback about it. A young teenage girl falls unexpectedly pregnant and sets out to find the perfect couple to adopt her child, setting her sights on an affluent couple played by Jennifer Gardner and Jason Bateman. An offbeat comedy but hugely enjoyable
Some Thing Has Found Us goes the tagline for this one and it is a very exciting, entertaining film. Very scary too. No big names, but great entertainment
The story of two beautiful sisters - Anne and Mary Boleyn - who compete for the love of King Henry VIII.
Brilliantly acted by Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman, with Eric Bana in fine form as the King. Good historical drama
Based on Philip Pulman's best selling Dark Materials, the first film from the trilogy is everything you would expect. Lyra Belacqua is a very special girl with a Golden Compass wanted by some very dangerous people. With the help of her friends, her daemon and a talking polar bear, Lyra must fight to defend her compass and her extraordinary talent. Starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig, this film has something for everyone.
Won Oscar. Another 3 wins & 20 nominations
Different phases of the life of Bob Dylan portrayed by six different actors - including the late Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, Richard Gere and most memorably Cate Blanchett. A very original film and well worth a rental
