Access to Construction

26 week training and development programme for young people interested in working in the contstruction industry.

If school wasn’t your thing but you’re now interested in working in the building industry or learning a trade, such as bricklaying, joinery or painting and decorating, the Access to Construction programme could be for you. It involves learning the basics of these trades, getting work experience and qualifications as well as developing other skills to help you get a job.

The programme will run from September 2007 to March 2008.

Access to Construction is a Get Ready for Work funded programme. If you’re interested in applying, contact your local Careers Scotland centre.  They will check if you qualify and if so, will refer you to Youth Services for an interview.

Training will involve 2 days per week at Forth Valley College (Clackmannan) working towards the Construction and Civil Engineering Services Level 1 SVQ.
