A:  Funeral payments are a one-off payment and can help towards the cost of a funeral.  Eligibility depends on your circumstances, not those of the person who has died.

A:  Cruse is a national voluntary organisation which offers free information and advice to anyone who has been affected by a death. It also offers a free, confidential counselling service to people of all ages.

Q:  What bereavement benefits are available?

A:  To get bereavement benefits, your late husband or wife must have paid National Insurance (NI) contributions. Your own NI contributions do not count.
