Our Commitment

We aim to provide a service that seeks to work in partnership with applicants. We undertake to:

  • respond to enquiries about fostering within a week in an efficient and courteous manner

  • provide initial information by way of written material and telephone or direct contact with a social worker from the Resourcing Team

  • provide a comprehensive preparation and assessment programme, which will normally involve training sessions and a home study undertaken by one or two social workers

  • inform unsuccessful applicants as to the reasons for not accepting their applications

  • complete assessments within 6 months from the point of allocation to a social worker to presentation at the Fostering Panel

  • inform applicants of their rights to make representation or appeal decisions made by the Fostering Panel
