Information for employers

It is hoped that employers will use the site to post vacancies and that young people looking for employment will come to see it as the best route to accessing apprenticeships. The site will be operated and maintained by Stirling Council Youth Services who will offer a support and co-ordination service for both the employer and the job seeker. Initial research suggests that employers would prefer this less intrusive method of contact allowing them to consider employing apprentices free from pressure from external agencies. It is hoped that the site will eventually become a one-stop shop for the placement of apprentices with links to funding, access programmes and get ready to work programmes, training providers, Careers Scotland, local colleges, Young Scot, The Princes Trust and other sector agencies.

It is also hoped that young people in their final year at school will use the site to register their desire to work as an apprentice within a specific sector. Their CV will be added to the database of apprenticeship candidates and forwarded to prospective employers on request. Local schools have been very positive and supportive towards the programme and it is hoped that local employers will show the same level of support.
