Library Services
wm321Adult Services caters for those who are Housebound, those living in Old People’s Homes, and people in remote parts of the District.
If, due to age, location or disability, you are unable to get to your local library, these services are available for you. If you are unable to access the library temporarily, due to illness or following a stay in hospital, we will also deliver to you.
Deliveries to the Housebound are made throughout the Stirling Council area. As well as books, music cassettes, books on tape, quarterly book lists and a quarterly magazine, "Chatterbox", are delivered. Reading aids such as book rests and magnifying sheets are provided, subject to availability.
After an initial visit by the Community Access Librarian, the books, etc will be delivered once a fortnight, either by one of our volunteers or by library staff.
There are a number of events organised for usersof the service throughout the year.
In addition, a service is provided to Old People’s Homes and residents of sheltered housing complexes who may make special requests.
Currently families living in remote parts of the Stirling Council area who cannot visit a Community or Mobile library, are supplied with a collection of books on a monthly basis.
Any enquiry should be referred to Adult Services on (01786) 432391.
