All your emergency planning information.
The Council's approach to emergency planning is integrated emergency management.which is:
Ownership - recognising that any action taken in response to an incident is part of the usual service delivery arrangements within the Council (whether managerial or operational in nature).
Flexibility - incidents vary in their scale and nature, hence the structure must be able to adapt to suit the particular circumstances.
Partnership Working - the response to an incident involves a number of different agencies, who must work together in pressurised situations.
The Emergency Planning Adviser supports this approach by:-
- providing advice on legislation and best practice
- assisting with the production of procedures and guidance
- developing relationships with partner agencies
- planning and delivering training sessions and exercises on major emergency response
The Council has adopted the following policies and procedures, to assist those involved in the response to a major emergency:-
- Corporate Framework and Structure
- Service Response Documents
- Management Briefs
- Hazard Briefs
