Psciods

General Information

  • Psocids (Booklouse), also sometimes called barklice, are small insects belonging to the insect order Psocoptera.
  • Most species are free-living and are not pests.
  • prefer warm conditions especially kitchens
  • commonly found in flour
  • pale yellow in colour and wingless

Significance

  • wash down shelves and thoughly dry the shelf and surrounding area removing all moisture
  • discard affected food
  • we usually do not treat as such  just provide advice
  • keep food stuffs away from kettles and microwaves etc as these can intensify the humidity

Preventative Treatment
