Slaters (Woodlice)

General Information

  • also known as woodlice.
  • members of the crustacean family
  • there are about 35 species in Britain
  • usually associated with dampness
  • eat rotten materials eg: wood.
  • only treat if indoors

Significance

  • they are harmless to humans

Preventative Treatment

n/ablock all cracks and holes in walls and stepscontrol of wood lice in a room may be achieved by regular cleaning including vacuuming around floor edges, which should help to remove them. They should not re-appear unless proofing is inadequate.
