General Information

  • treated as priority if Council House
  • if private and the bird is behind a gas fire, our advise is to call Transco/Gas Board
  • if the bird is blocking the chinmey/fire, you will need a council gas fitter

Significance

  • animal welfare, specifically the distress of being trapped
  • if the bird dies there maybe infestation and smell
  • hazardous blocking of flumes and chimneys

Stirling Council

  • will address all issues arising from this in relation with council property
  • for private properties we will require appropriate tradesmen i.e gas and builders. to allow us access to remove the bird where possible

Cost of Treatment (until 31 March 2009)

Stirling Council do not charge for this service but responds in support in animal welfare and animal safety
