Local Strategy

The Housing (Scotland) Act 2001, places a legal duty upon every local authority to produce a LOCAL HOUSING STRATEGY.   Our first Local Housing Strategy covers the period from April 2004 – April 2009.

The purpose of the Local Housing Strategy is very important in that it will detail the Council’s strategic objectives and proposed action to address housing issues across all housing tenures.

The Council’s role is to collate and analyse a wide range of  information about existing housing provision and demand and identify the key influences which impact on housing options for the community.
