Corporate Asset Management Plan
Stirling Council has been at the forefront of developing integrated services for children and established a Children's Service to deliver its vision of socially inclusive and quality services for all. We have high expectations for all children. There is a commitment to work in the best interests of children, young people and their families, catering for diversity of need wherever possible.
As part of the review of Corporate Services in 2003, we recognised the need to formulate an Asset Management Strategy and Plan which aims to deliver better and more efficient services for the people of Stirling by effective utilisation of the substantial capital asset base available. The Asset Management Plan, and process, will focus and evaluate the cost effectiveness of all assets and recommend options for the future against a backdrop of increasingly scarce resources.
We believe that the success of Asset Management Planning will only occur with the full involvement of Members, all Service Directorates and Stakeholders, as well as Property Officers, by ensuring that there is true corporate commitment and understanding of the choices that have to be made when prioritising projects.
The School Estate Management Plan is the first strand of the Asset Management Plan to be evolved and has been jointly produced by Corporate Services and Children's Services.
