History
St Margaret’s RC Primary School is situated in the village of Cowie, some five miles to the east of Stirling. The school was built in 1915 and an extension was added in 1961.
The school provides denominational primary education for children of parents living in Cowie itself and the neighbouring villages of Fallin, Plean and Throsk. These are local communities which have their history in the mining industry and as a result have experienced major economic upheaval since the early eighties. It is, however, a community that is beginning a process of regeneration, with significant new private housing growth in the area.
