Children's Directory

This directory aims to provide parents and carers in our area with information about:

  • the range of early childhood
  • play
  • out of school childcare services available

We provide a wide range of services in order to meet the needs of children, their parents and carers. The information in the directory should give parents and carers a better understanding of the various types of provision and support available to them and their children. Some of these services are provided by the private or voluntary sectors.

We have made sure that the needs of children are at the heart of its decision making by putting children first, and ensures equal opportunities by providing services of high quality.

We believe that services for children, especially in their early years, cannot only benefit children but also provide opportunities to improve the wellbeing of families. Raising children can be stressful and demanding and many families, at some point, may require support to help them through a difficult stage. We recognise that parents and carers are the most important educators of their children. Therefore, Children's Services are planned and operated in partnership with children, parents, carers and communities. This all helps to make sure that as many as possible of Stirlings citizens are included in the social and economic benefits of their area.

How to use this Directory

Described are the types of early childhood, play and out of school childcare services that can be found in our area. We also try to tell you something about how these services are delivered, by giving you definitions of key terms, and explanations about key processes. Provisions are grouped and listed in alphabetic order for your ease of use.
