Enrolling your child at nursery

To enrol your child into a pre-school nursery or playgroup contact the nursery or playgroup directly and ask for an application form. You can view the list of nurseries available in the Stirling area, provided by Stirling Council.

It's a good idea to visit the nursery, have a look around and chat to staff. Priority is given to chidren living in the Stirling Council area for a nursery or playgroup place.

We have an information leaflet we can send out to parents explaining about required criteria i.e. birth dates, etc. If you would like a copy please phone the contact centre on 0845 277 7000.

We allocates places as straightforwardly as possible. All children in their pre-school year and all 3 year olds in the term following their third birthday, are guaranteed a place within either a council nursery or within a partnership nursery or playgroup. We cannot always guarantee a place within a parent's or carers first choice establishment, therefore applications are allocated using a points system which takes account of both children's needs and family circumstances. All partner nurseries and playgroups allocate places in accordance with the council's admissions policy.
