SLANT
How do we organise Support for Learning?
There is a team of teachers (SLANT) which provides support for primary and early years establishments in the Stirling area. The teachers include those who support with hearing and visual impairment, English as an Additional Language and Gypsy Traveller Children. The inclusion team in SLANT support children with complex needs and there is a teacher who supports children absent from school due to ill health. Most of the SLANT staff have post graduate qualifications in Special Educational Needs and there is an ongoing training programme which keeps them up to date with developments in education.
