History

Doune Primary is a co-educational, non-denominational school for children from Primary 1 to Primary 7. The school occupies a picturesque site enjoying views across fields and woodland towards Doune Castle.

Doune Primary is a single-storey building. Both school and grounds are in very good condition. The school has a fully equipped gym, a reference library area, six classrooms, open areas for both infant and junior/senior classes, a dining hall and kitchen, three asphalt play areas and a 1.5 acre playing field.

Parents, staff and children have, in recent years, developed the grounds of the school which includes playground games, low level play equipment, a quiet area with seats and tables and garden areas where we grow fruit, vegetables and flowers. Within the garden we have a wildlife area and a willow dome.

Doune Nursery is situated beyond the school garden.
