History
Fallin Primary School’s present building was officially opened in April 1967 but a school in the village has been traced back to at least the early 1820’s. The first school in Fallin was for the children of farm labourers. At the start of this century a coal mine opened and a larger school was needed. The village grew up around the pit site. It is the only school in the village and serves the communities of Throsk and Fallin. The school had a major refurbishment in 2004. This has provided an excellent base for learning and teaching which is further enhanced by an extensive computer suite.
