History
Inversnaid Primary School lies one mile from the east shore of Loch Lomond in Glen Arklet. It is 15 miles along single-track road from the nearest primary school at Aberfoyle and 26 miles from its associated secondary school, McLaren High School, in Callander. The Education Authority is based in Stirling, a distance of 36 miles.
The school building consists of a stone-built classroom and cedar wood extension. The classroom is the original school dating back to pre-1869. The extension, which houses the general (GP) room, kitchen and toilets, was added in 1967. The GP room is used as a dining room, staff room, office, library and medical room. Additional storage is provided in 4 wooden sheds outside. There is a large level grassed play area and sloping wildlife area with trees and a pond. Car parking facilities are also available.
