We subscribe to these outstanding databases, which means that all of our libraries can offer an up to date, top quality reference collection.

Ask Scotland

Ask Scotland is an online information service provided by Scotland's public libraries that lets you get real answers from real people. You can email a question using the online form or chat with a librarian using instant messaging service, which is available 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

KnowUK

Over 100 reference publications provide a comprehensive resource for everybody in the UK. Most are unique to KnowUK and are not available elsewhere online. Many of these are updated more frequently than the equivalent print copy, so KnowUK is the place to search first.

NewsUK

Contains news from 67 local and national UK newspapers, which can be searched either individually or together.

Both of these wonderful resources can be used through your library membership card in your own home!

SCRAN

Aims to provide educational access to digital materials representing our material culture and history. It hosts over 300, 000 images, movies and sounds from museums, galleries, archives and the media. It can be used generically- as a substitute for clip art- or for particular learning applications.
