We have now launched our calendar for 2009 and there has been a real burst of interest from the start.
Last year's sold out in the second week of December and we are confident that the stunning images in this year's will have a similar impact. These images have been taken by local photographers John McPake and Michael Lyon and cover both Stirling and outlying beauty spots.
The calendar sells at £3.99 and is available in all local libraries, as well as in the Klondyke Garden Centre and in Waterstones, Stirling

The exhibition celebrates the lives of four local veterans after their return from active service at home and overseas. Included are the contrasting lifestyles of a Victorian country gentleman, a Glasgow policeman, a teacher and a local businessman and Councillor.
The exhibition is on four very attractive panels that were designed by library staff and is set to tour all libraries in the Stirling Council area until the end of September, 2008.
The exhibition can be seen at the following locations over coming weeks:

This exciting new initiative, in conjunction with Forth Valley College, opens up learning in a wide range of subjects to all users of Stirling Council Libraries.
There is a tremendous range of courses to choose from, and enrolment is quick and easy through your local library.
For more information visit the Virtual Campus on the Forth Valley College website.
As well as offering free use of networked PCs, we can now let you onto the internet on your own laptop, as long as it is wireless-enabled. There is filtering in place to prevent access to inappropriate sites. All you need to do is join the library service, as your library membership barcode is the means of getting access, or bring along your membership card with your laptop when you visit. A pin number will be provided by staff and you will be up and running. With fast broadband links to all libraries, you will find it a very good service.
