Learning and IT
We offer a range of learning options to our users, from tutor-led classes to on-line learning, done at a time to suit you and your lifestyle.
A SUfi accredited learning centre based in Bannockburn Library makes available a suite of PC's with networked access to the Internet and CD-ROMs. A second Learning Zone is based at Bridge Of Allan library. This facility, supported by a local college, allows individuals to access specific learning packages and facilitates group learning sessions. One PC has been adapted for those with visual/hearing disability.
Taught classes are available in intoductory computing and the ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence)
Beginners computing classes are also run by BGOP (Better Government for Older People)
Basic computing skills and ECDL are also available on a flexible study basis with sessions that are supported by staff from the college. These sessions can be booked by telephone or in person
A careers officer is available for interviews and workshops on a fortnightly basis. Individuals can gain advice on CV's and interview skills. An on-line career module is also available in Bannockburn supported by staff from Careers Central.

This exciting new initiative, in conjunction with Forth Valley College, opens up learning in a wide range of subjects to all users of Stirling Council Libraries.
There is a tremendous range of courses to choose from, and enrolment is quick and easy through your local library.
