- You need to fill out a membership form and produce two current (and recent) forms of identification to verify your name, address and signature.
- Children under 16 years old need a parent/guardian to sign their form, you will receive a membership card.
- This card can be used in all community libraries in the Stirling Council Area.
A separate membership is required to use the mobile libraries. Registration is also required for computer usage.
- If you lose your card, let library staff know immediately as you are responsible for items borrowed on your card.
- A charge is made for a replacement card
- Users who join at the Raploch Xpress will need to have their membership card updated for use at other libraries
What can I borrow from the Library?
- Books
- Audio items (borrowers must be at least 10 years old)
- DVDs
- Language Courses
- Books on CD and Cassette
What does it cost?
- Books and language courses can be borrowed free
- There is a charge for other items, though audio books are free to those with specific physical conditions.
How long can I keep them?
- Books can be kept for 3 weeks
- Audio can be kept for 1 week
- DVDs for 2 days or 1 week, depending on the category of film
What should I do if I want to keep the Items longer, or can't get to the library?
- Telephone any one of the community libraries and renew your books
- Audio items can be renewed, but another borrowing charge will be added to your card
- Videos, and DVDs cannot be renewed, but if kept longer than the hire period will be charged at re-hire rates
- Renew online(if the items are not overdue)
If I keep items longer and don't renew them, what happens?
- You will be charged fines on the items
- Book fines are charged daily
- Audio, videos and DVDs are charged according to hire period
- Charges are on display in the libraries
Does everyone have to pay fines on late items?
- Yes, but we do offer a renewal service
Do they have to go back to the same Library, or can I return them to any?
- You can return books and audio items to another library in the Stirling Council Area.
- Videos and DVDs should be returned to the library from which they were borrowed
I am not interested in books; does the Library have anything to offer me?
- The Library service lends, CDs, DVDs, children's videos, talking books and language courses
- All community libraries offer word-processing and Internet access

What do I do if the material I want is not immediately available?
- You can use the request service (There is a charge for this)
- Books, journal articles and music scores can be borrowed throughout the Inter-Library Loan Service (There is a charge for this)
