Ethnic Languages

Central Library in Stirling holds our main collection of materials in community languages, although a smaller collection is available at Bridge of Allan Library.

  • There is a large range of books, newspapers, music, videos and magazines for young and old alike.
    Bi-lingual material is available for children.
  • We have material available in Arabic, Bengali, Gujerati, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, Chinese, Romanian, Russian and Polish.
  • We are happy to take enquiries and suggestions about the service.

Interpretation Support

If you have difficulty speaking English, all of our libraries have access to Language Line. This is a telephone-based interpreting service that provides communication assistance in many languages.

Also available is Global Office software, which enables you to use a keyboard in your own language.
