Local Plans are often for smaller areas. They sat out more detailed policies and proposals to guide development. Again, councils must consult widely on the content of a Local Plan at the appropriate time. The main phase of publicity for the general public takes place when the draft policies and proposals are published when there will be key periods for representation. After considering all views and making suitable changes, councils will adopt the Local Plan as the basis for their decision making in the area. They cannot do this if the Local Plan is not in line with the approved Structure Plan. Stirling Council's Local Plan can be viewed at Stirling Council offices, local libraries and by clicking
