Bannockburn Heritage Centre

Stirling 's provision for visitors is no better illustrated than at the Bannockburn Heritage Centre located on the site of the Battle of Bannockburn. It was here King Robert the Bruce sent Edward's English army "home to think again" and brought the independence that Wallace had fought valiantly for.

Fearsome life size figures of Wallace and Bruce among others bring to life the decisive moments in Scottish History including the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath. It was this which inspired Thomas Jefferson when he drew up the American Declaration of Independence.

With the way Stirling's fascinating history in now brought alive, it's small wonder that visitors to the town have almost doubled in the last five years an number that is set to keep rising as more historical buildings are restored, and new attractions in keeping with the town's rich past are created.
