Safer Stirling

Over the last decade Stirling City Centre has become increasingly popular and vibrant.  Growing numbers of visitors and residents enjoy the rich history and heritage of the city and also the quality and diversity of its retail, entertainment and leisure sectors.

Safer

With a justified reputation as one of the safest cities in the United Kingdom whether living, working or visiting Stirling, it becomes immediately clear that its 'sense of place' enables people to relax and enjoy the wide range of attractions and facilities available.

City

As one of Scotland's fastest growing cities, the future looks both exciting and demanding for Stirling.  As a result of this growth, however, a number of issues will develop.  Most will be positive and of benefit, but there will also be some challenges.

Centre

The Stirling Safer City Centre Initiative has been specifically established by the Scottish Government to focus on business crime reduction and prevention.  By introducing a programme of practical and focused activities, the initiative will directly address crime, anti-social behaviour, fear of crime and environmental issues.

'If business crime is to be tackled effectively, the Executive, police, local authorities and businesses must play a prominent and active role'

Cathy Jamieson, Justice Minister
