When Mel Gibson immortalised William Wallace on the silver screen, few could have imagined the dramatic impact it would have on Stirling as a tourist destination.
Since the making of Braveheart, which had its glittering European premiere at The MacRobert Arts Centre followed by a star-studded party at Stirling Castle, Stirling became the international destination for many.
The city now attracts over a million visitors every year, with close on half that number visiting the magnificent Castle, which has majestically stood guard through centuries of warfare and royal drama.
