Lone Parents - Can I afford to go to College?

Are you a lone parent who would like to gain further qualifications? You might think that it's impossible for you to go to college or university on a full-time basis. However ,new grants, bursaries and other forms of support especially aimed at lone parents are being introduced. The sort of help available depends on whether you are attending college or university.

If you are a single parent living within the Stirling Council area and want to study, train or go back to work, you may be eligible for the lone parent grant. This is not repayable and could be used to help towards childcare costs.
